COHP's mission is to provide learning opportunities to children in Haiti with limited or no access to formal education, through the collective support and leadership of international schools, international institutions, and individuals worldwide.
COHP came to us because funding for Haiti is continuing to disappear. Only the most serious and well presented initiatives are able to compete for the limited funding and continue. Our mission was to inspire fundraisers and academic organizations to help COHP continue and help children the rest of the world has forgotten.
COHP had 2 big problems. First, most people had moved on to more current disasters by now. And second, the way they were presenting their efforts to the world looked like something from 1985. Our job was to figure out the best way to remind people that Haiti still needs lots of help. Also, that there are still very effective programs in Haiti that are allowing it to rebuild into a thriving nation.
All thought the event in 2010 was tragic, we felt that the real story was the incredible impact COHP is having on the community. From education to nutrition to emotional support to housing, COHP has become a beacon of hope and template for success for the rest of the schools in Haiti.
